STX Entertainment and Old Navy partnered for a sweepstakes to celebrate the theatrical release of A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS. Fans were given the chance to win a private screening for 100 guests in their hometown. Read more.

 

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI | Nissan

Walt Disney Studios and Nissan joined forces again to promote the latest installment of the STAR WARS franchise, STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.  Leading up to the film’s opening, Nissan had an extensive promotional campaign that featured Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies from its top selling models. THE GREATEST SHOWMAN | Montblanc

20th Century Fox and Montblanc partnered to celebrate the December theatrical release of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. Throughout the film, actor Hugh Jackman could be seen using his Montblanc Minerva pocket watch, a vintage piece on loan from the house’s archive in Switzerland, as well as a specifically commissioned Meisterstück fountain pen, with a ringmaster engraved on its nib. Fueled by Ramen Records and Rockstar Energy partnered to support pop-punk stars ALL TIME LOW and their Young Renegades Tour that took place over the summer of 2017.

Fans could enter a sweepstakes on a custom microsite on the Rockstar Energy website. Entrants had a chance to win a Grand Prize VIP Flyaway Experience to the Baltimore, MD hometown show which included airfare for two, transportation, accommodations, VIP passes, and an exclusive pizza party with the band. LADY GAGA | Starbucks

LADY GAGA and Starbucks partnered to support the Born This Way Foundation. From June 13 – 19, 2017, Starbucks donated 25 cents from each one of its Cups of Kindness beverages sold at participating locations, and committed to a minimum $250,000 contribution to the Born This Way Foundation. Funds raised went toward programs that supported youth wellness and empowerment by fostering kindness, improving mental health resources and creating positive environments. GORILLAZ | Jaguar

GORILLAZ and Jaguar Land Rover partnered to recruit more than 1,000 electronic and software engineers by using the new Gorillaz App as a recruitment tool. The automotive brand launched a code-breaking challenge in the form of a 360-environment situated in the garage of the band’s home which also featured all the iconic vehicles from Gorillaz past. TIDAL and Sprint partnered to celebrate the new album, 4:44, from JAY-Z by offering a series of exclusives to the 45 million postpaid and prepaid Sprint customers and existing TIDAL members. Existing customers and customers who switched to Sprint could experience the album exclusively, as well as a complimentary six-month trial of TIDAL HiFi. More here.

BLAKE SHELTON | Nissan

To promote BLAKE SHELTON and his “Doing It To Country Songs” tour, Warner Music Nashville and Nissan teamed up for a tour sponsorship. As a presenting sponsor, the partnership gave Nissan high visibility on Shelton’s headliner and festival events, including ticketing, promotional materials, in-venue videos, social media and collateral, VIP hospitality and on-site vehicle displays for headliner tour stops. The program also featured a sweepstakes that gave fans a chance to win a trip to the tour. Find out more here.

Entertainment Marketing: 2016 was a Big Year for Movie Partnerships

2016 was a great year for entertainment partnerships. Our team tracked (and added) over 300 entertainment partnerships to MarketingPartnerships.com in the last year alone. The range of marketing partners and the creativity involved in these campaigns was incredibly impressive. The following partnerships are just a dozen of the activities that grabbed our attention. XMEN: APOCALYPSE | Coldwell Banker
It’s always great seeing new companies venture into the partnership world and the collaboration between real estate firm Coldwell Banker and 20th Century Fox Films was a groundbreaking program.  Check out the TV spots and campaign elements. BATMAN V. SUPERMAN | Turkish Airways

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY | Nissan
Each of the partners for ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY delivered significant creative, but the creative in Nissan’s TV spots really brought us into the movie and delivered a great payoff at the end. Check out the partnership here.

BAD MOMS | Blushington
Every over-worked mom needs a little pampering once in awhile and Blushington was the perfect partner to make that happen. R-Rated movies are not always the easiest for partners but this one looked beautiful… more.

STAR TREK BEYOND | Quicken Loans
Quicken Loans showed how their Rocket Mortgage could take homeowners on the fastest, most powerful home loan experience in the universe through an integrated marketing campaign. Check out the TV spot and more.

ZOOLANDER 2 | Fiat
Here’s another team favorite and one that made me hit rewind on my DVR at least 10 times.  This was a really fun spot that played up the ZOOLANDER character and playing up the main character perfectly … more.
